Flashback: Sydney 2000 Olympic & Paralympic Games

The Sydney 2000 Olympics will always hold a special place in our history, as this event was our first foray into the Major Events Industry. In 1998 we were fortunate enough to win the contract to supply and project manage the installation & removal of all the furniture for the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Little did we know then that this would be the beginning of what has now been 20+ years in Major Events FF&E.

We supplied over 600,000 pieces of FF&E to the Sydney 2000 Olympics, ranging from chairs and tables, beds, chests of drawers, through to pioneering the use of cardboard furniture at an Olympics.

A lot has changed in the last 21 years since Sydney 2000, for instance have a look at the computers in the Sydney 2000 UAC office. However some things continue to stand the test of time, like our Click Clack Bed pictured here being used on its first ever major event. Due to its strength, incredibly fast assembly time and simplicity, this bed has been used by RGS on numerous events since Sydney and will once again be utilised at next year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
